Der Staat ist bekannt für seine weltberühmten Themenparks und Attraktionen, wie z.B. Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens und viele mehr. Der Everglades National Park ist berühmt für seine wild lebenen Tiere, unter anderem auch Alligatoren und wunderschöne Vögelarten.
Warum EF?
Die Strände sind perfekt für jegliche Art von Outdoor Aktivitäten, wie z.B. Fussball, Volleyball, Surfen, Schwimmen oder ein kleines Barbeque. Amerikanische Gastfamilien haben grosses Interesse an ausländischen Schülern. Oftmals werden die Schüler zu Familienausflügen mitgenommen. Du wirst das Land von einer ganz anderen Seite kennenlernen.

Theme parks! You can’t live in Florida and not go to at least one. Orlando is, of course, home to Disney World—which is really several theme parks in one: Magic Kingdom, Island of Adventure, Universal Studios, Epcot Center—but there’s also Sea World, Busch Gardens, and Silver Springs nearby to tempt you. Then of course, there’s the beach. It’s a state surrounded on three sides by water. That plus year-round sunshine makes just about any sort of water sport possible: surfing, windsurfing, body surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving, to name but a few. Opportunities also abound for beach volleyball, soccer, cycling and horse riding. Prefer shopping? Some of the largest open-air malls are found in Florida, where you’ll find a store to suit every taste, from Abercrombie & Fitch to Armani Exchange. Into nature? Don’t miss your chance to visit the Everglades. Here you’ll see wildlife unique to Florida: bottlenosed dolphin, pilot whales, manatees, alligator, crocodiles, sea turtles—and panthers!

We’ve been running our Global Village program in Florida for many years now, and many communities throughout the state look forward to hosting EF students every summer. Our homestay programs offer total immersion with a local family. You really do become a member of the community and experience America’s unique lifestyle from the inside. Alternatively, we also run a fabulous EF Resort, right on world-famous Coco Beach. You enjoy hotel-style accommodation, Florida’s best surfing beach, and the close proximity to the amusement parks of Orlando. Wherever you study, your teachers will get you out of the classroom to use your English during weekly study visits to museums, art galleries, local historical sights, local businesses—even the police or the fire station! A highlight will be giving back to your hosts by doing a community service project. And when lessons are over for the day, get ready for some serious fun, Florida-style: beach trips, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, barbecues, sports tournaments—and the EF Disco!
